About the Author

VALERIE L. SCHWIEBERT, Assistant Professor and Gerontology Faculty Associate in the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education at Northern Illinois University, is also a nationally certified gerontological and rehabilitation counselor. She is president of the Illinois Association for Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development and has contributed to a number of professional jourbanals.

JANE E. MYERS, Professor of Counseling Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is certified nationally as a gerontological, clinical, and rehabilitation counselor and has received three national awards for her research in gerontology./e Among her numerous publications in the field is a three volume guide, Counseling Older Persons (1981).
