Helios Creed has gone through multiple musical phases, and
Cosmic Assault, a 1995 release, offers a mixture of his earlier
industrial and
grunge influences combined with additional styles. True to his tendency for science fiction themes, the album includes tracks such as the spacey
"Altered States," the ominous, somewhat
goth-like
"Leaving the Body," and of course, the percussive, discordant title cut. Fans who enjoy his more strident offerings will probably prefer cuts like
"Rise" and
"Pounders," while, curiously enough, despite the title,
"Military Presence"'s
ambient style may well appeal to those who enjoy a quieter approach. ~ Murrday Fisher
