Deborah Heiligman’s golden retriever, Tinka, inspired both Fun Dog, Sun Dog and its sequel, Cool Dog, School Dog. She is also the author of several award-winning nonfiction books, including Charles and Emma: The Darwins’ Leap Of Faith, which was a Printz Honor book and won the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction Award.
