Kenneth Basile has been working with North American bird carvings since 1973, when he began his work with Chesapeake Bay at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland. He presently the director of the Ward Museum at Salisbury University, Salisbury, Maryland.
