The volumes follow a similar format, covering subjects' early lives, their contributions to their sport, and their path to professional athletics. Although the language and structure are ideal for kids who may need extra reading support, transitions between sections may be a bit challenging for some, as fast facts, vocabulary and definitions, and quotations are interspersed, sometimes awkwardly, throughout the books. Still, young readers who are passionate about sports will benefit from inspirational, captivating content and vocabulary development. VERDICT Informative and thrilling sports titles, fun for beginning and reluctant readers.
