Connections
Connections tells the story of Gabriella Neumann, a research scientist and physician with a large biotech company. Though she leads a top secret pentagon project, she’s desperately trying to find a cure for her husband, Michael. He suffered a debilitating brain injury in a car accident and is slowly dying. Despite the forces arrayed against her she finds allies in unlikely places and develops the hoped for cure. But the results of the Ulysses Treatment promise to take them on a journey that neither could have imagined.
Connections is a story of pain and profound alienation; and a story of hope and redemption. Set in the present day, Connections asks questions about the nature of love, greed, power, and faith. It offers a fresh look at the fundamental conflicts we hear about every day: capitalism vs. socialism, the material vs. the spiritual and ties them together in ways that will surprise you. Once you read Connections you will never think of that word in the same way again.

About the Author

For a long time Jim has sought to understand why people believe as they do; how the world is different from each individuals' vantage point and why. This curiosity has led himto study biology, history, psychology, religion, philosophy and a host of other disciplines.
His goals for writing the series has been several. First, and foremost: to entertain. He wanted to produce a gripping story which, at the same time, caused the reader to see the world differently and to think about their place in it through the eyes of the major characters.
Because, at it's heart, Connections is about how people behave when the ground under them shifts uncontrollably. Jim sought to create characters living the same day-to-day life most of us lead; people the reader can identify with and appreciate

Jim Goldmann brings his business experience and expertise along with his background in the sciences to bear in writing his first work of fiction. Connections is a suspense novel with a medical and scientific bent. Jim has drawn on over thirty years on the medical field to develop the concepts behind the story. His long-term exposure to the medical profession along with his background in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Technology has inspired the fundamental premises of the novel.

Serving as a consultant over the past 16 years to physicians, health systems, and medical schools along with his employment in large corporations has inspired the settings and interpersonal dynamics for the novel. He has also served as a senior executive in academic medical centers, large health systems, and large physician practices.

Jim has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard in Biology and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
