Shelley Read es licenciada en Escritura y Estudios Literarios por la Universidad de Denver y en Escritura Creativa de la Universidad de Temple. Durante casi tres décadas fue profesora titular en la Western Colorado University. Es colaboradora habitual de Crested Butte Magazine y Gunnison Valley Journal, y ha escrito para el Denver Post y diversas publicaciones.
