Comments on 1 & 2 Thessalonians
This is a verse by verse study of 1 & 2 Thessalonians using the NASB text. This church was greatly beloved by Paul. Paul and his companions planted the church of the Thessalonians during his second missionary journey. However, the missionaries had to flee from the dangers of the Jews and the pagans who sought to do them harm. So Paul could only stay there a few weeks. In spite of this, the church of the Thessalonians grew and became very evangelistic throughout that part of the Roman Empire. Paul wrote to encourage them and tell them they were doing a good job. However, there were some issues they needed to correct, most notably that some refused to work and support their families, and some had a poor understanding of the doctrine of Christ's second coming.

About the Author

I am a retired Medical Doctor. For my whole life I have been exposed to the Bible from many different teachers. I have been studying the Bible carefully for many years, and I read the Bible everyday. I have taught many Bible related classes and I have written other books that are available. My wife and I go to Ghana for mission work twice a year to mature churches. Much of my writing has been for their benefits. This year I published a book by Dr. Everett Ferguson and that title is A Cappella Music in the Public Worship of the Church, 4th edition. Desert Willow Publishing is our publishing company.
