About the Author

Alan Barysh is a local Baltimore writer, who has been at it since his first creative writing class in high school He has been a printer in a torah factory, a sales clerk in an art supply store, a web press operator, a short order cook in a convent, a custodian in a Ivy League School, a shipyard worker, and for the last 31 years a blue print delivery driver. Culturally he worked for a radio show called The Great Atlantic Radio -. He has conducted for John Cage, produced a number of poetry compact discs, and headed an avant-guard music ensemble called the Buzzard Luck Ensemble and written poetry books and politically correct pulp fiction. Politically he has supported various causes such as the various Farm Worker Strikes in the Sixties, and the Civil rights movements in the sixties. He was a shop steward in the Amalgamated Municipal Employees Union Local 1231 and the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilders Local 33. He was awarded a Baltimore’s Best prize in 1982, The Boy Scout God and Country Award in 1964, and the winner of the Baltimore City Paper poetry Award in 2016. He currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
