About the Author

Joyce Day Guy is an Ordained Minister graduating from the City of Light School of Ministry in 1981- 82 in Kingwood, Texas.

As a Child of seven years, she came to know the Lord and began making beautiful picture cards for her mother. Picking up coins on the dirt road walking to school, was what she used to purchase her Mother beautiful greeting cards and this peaked her desire for ‘rhymes and pretty words.”

Her talents helped her to win 3rd Place in a Poster Contest in Third Grade at Lincoln School in Norman, Oklahoma. She writes poetry for others now, which is what this book is all about.

Her Aunt Eula Camp was an English Teacher at Drumright High School in the 60’s and Joyce helped grade English Test Papers for her when she would return home to Norman on Holidays. She began associating herself with prose and a joy for writing came forth.

Joyce had her own Card Shop in a farm house in Davis, Oklahoma in 2010 and called it “JoySee’s Card Shoppe” because it was what Joyce Sees. Joyce is intrigued with nature, animals and colorful people. Her Grandmother Tennessee Blanch McGeorge was Full Blood Cherokee and Joyce comes by her instincts true to form. She is very proud of her Cherokee Indian Heritage and Lineage which shows proud in her love for animals and people in general. I am sure You will find this a “Must Read” for your Library.

A children’s park named McGeorge Park now takes the place of the old homestead where Joyce was born in her Grandmothers home at 631 East Eufaula Street, Norman, Oklahoma.

A Library was considered being named after her Grandfather Lee Ander McGeorge. He was one of Norman’s first Blacksmiths and his shop stood on the SE Corner of Main Street and Porter Avenue where her mother was born. Her Grandmother came to Oklahoma in the “Run of Oklahoma” at the age of twelve. Her Deep Roots have caused Joyce to appreciate and love the landmarks where she was born and raised.
