Nik has finally learned to admit the truth to herself after the revelation that she has fallen in love with Clay. Tough as it is she can't deny the ultimate truth - she had fallen for Clay and found herself facing her wildest fears tonight ... just to see him ... because she missed him ... she's captivated.
Nik smiled weakly, her heart raced and an unfamiliar breathless sound escaped from her lips, what was it a giggle or a gasp?
She shook her head and locked her eyes with his, for she could tell he was gauging her response - ready for her flight or her fight - except that neither one ever kicked into gear because her reflexes seemed to only move her closer to her man and therein she brushed her lips against his - because she missed him and because she was in this thing - and because she missed ... 'them'.
Clay has embraced the wonderful fact that he has at last found himself in love with a beautiful and amazing woman. Both of them had not been expecting to fall head over heels for each other but it had happened and though they were scared, the fear of losing what was blossoming between them as worth fighting for rather than losing.
Nik is still fighting an internal battle with her mind, she wasn't this woman - the woman who wanted and expected ... well, anything from a man - she wasn't raised to be this woman.
And therein her mind was screaming in protest ... and yet, her heart was somewhere else ... or with someone else.
