This atlas is an examination of oral diseases in pediatric patients using pictorial material with brief written summaries. The purpose is to provide a resource for overcoming the diagnostic difficulties that pediatric oral diseases pose for practitioners. Considering that many specialists (dentists, dermatologists, pediatric oncologists, etc.) diagnose and treat oral diseases, this is a worthy objective that has been effectively met. The author has written this book as a reference for practitioners. It is also a great teaching tool for students or residents in dentistry and medicine. The author has an international reputation as a prolific writer and as a clinician with a special interest in oral disease. Photographs are combined with clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic information in outline form. The material is presented in three major sections: local diseases, systemic disorders affecting the oral cavity, and tumors. The excellent print quality of 495 illustrations is the best feature. By combining first-rate photographs with brief synopses of oral diseases in children and adolescents, with this book the author accomplishes what every atlas author should: provide a wealth of information and in a comprehensive yet easy to use reference for students and practitioners alike.
