Overview

Collection of Short Stories has been wonderfully orchestrated in both dramatic and has humorous styles over a period of many years. Pieced together during his research phase as a mental health practitioner, it was suggested this personal collection of stories might serve as a diversion for those seeking relief from the throes of daily life. Although Henry Thoreau might not have appreciated them, perhaps the famous Pink Panther detective, Inspector Clueso, would have marveled at the innovative complexity within each individual story. . .
Having spent fifteen years as a professional hypnotherapist in New York I have managed to write several nonfiction books on the subject. To avoid becoming so intense, both for my clients as well as myself I needed to find some way to balance my activities. Writing fiction stories was the solution, as well as a great relief. As I continued to write short stories, I began developing more and more as a fiction writer - so much so that I was able to write many novels. In fact, I have developed such a penchant for writing that there are four novels just begging completion, eager to find placement through literary agents. . .
One of the surprises during my journey to become a novelist was that I discovered I was able to write a story, develop it into a complete novel, and then convert that into a screenplay. Just recently, I have submitted an entirely new action suspense novel regarding the legalization of growing marijuana in Connecticut. The reason for this story coming about is because of all the attention the media is publicising about doctors are needing the miraculous plant for medical purposes. I will sum up this section by stating that I wish to invite literary agents to contact me with a request to review my recent proposal regarding this story.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The author / novelist has just completed a new e-book. Search for the title, "Lillian of The Mermaids, Songs of the Sirens." It will be available during October 2012 through Nook, Kindle, and many other sources, including on the Internet. Search for books, e-books, Sony, and other non-fiction books by author Edward J Longo. Also search search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

About the Author

About Edward J Longo: Ever since Longo uprooted from Connecticut and came to New York City in 1963, he wanted to become an author. During his journey toward what seemed to be a simple objective led him to experience the most challenging and rewarding adventures of his life, leading right up to this current year of 2010. There were so many ups and downs, and rejections during this journey, including those “unfortunately” notices from publishers, it was a wonder he still believed he could become published. It must have been the accumulative energies of his artistic creativity, intuition, and imagination that had ultimately continued to keep him driven. . .
Here is what he had to say about becoming a published author: “In one instance, I remember how particularly focused and bent on writing, I had been. It was while I was writing ‘You Can’t Do Wrong and Get By.’ For one solid year I did nothing but write and sleep. When I couldn’t write any longer I would lie down and sleep. Then I would get up, write until I got hungry, then eat, and write some more until tiredness overtook my drive. . .
This daily writing-around-the-clock routine has been recorded and documented in my personal notes. Another thing that was established during this entire phase was the revelation that, in spite of all the rhetoric, there was definitely NOT a built-in clock within my physiological makeup. When I wrote, I wrote with a passion, I ate upon becoming hungry, and I slept when the day, or night, compelled me to sleep. It was this kind of quality sleep that came more naturally than I had ever experienced before in my life. . .

Although Henry Thoreau might not have appreciated them, perhaps the famous Pink Panther detective, Inspector Clueso, would have marveled at the innovative complexity within each individual story. Finally, with the publication of Collection of Short Stories I have fulfilled my quest to become a published author. . .
