The book is accompanied by an ebook, which includes video depictions of management techniques. Originally published in 1994, this book was last updated in 2013.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a reference on the management of binocular vision disorders. The book has extensive instruction on efficient diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. The authors structure the information to make it easy to navigate, both for neophytes approaching the content for the first time and for seasoned practitioners. The added videos make this content even more approachable.
Audience: This book is appropriate for optometrists, ophthalmologists, optometry students, residents, orthoptists, and vision therapists. It contains information helpful to anyone involved in the diagnosis and management of binocular vision disorders. The authors are prominent optometrists.
Features: The first of the book's five sections outlines diagnostic procedures and how to approach patient assessment. Treatment plans for virtually all relevant conditions are neatly displayed. For those less familiar with the procedures described, the videos in the ebook are a beautiful visual aid. The updated literature reviews and inclusion of videos make this a worthy update. Any optometric practitioner in a primary care or pediatric-focused practice setting will strongly benefit from having a copy within arm's reach.
