It's been a year since Konrad and Weston narrowly escaped the Gancanagh island, Achaeten. Weston is lost: longing for someone he can't have, struggling to find purpose in the world, and hiding from a mysterious predator in the woods. Even his Luck magic hasn't shown him a true path forward.
Faced with troubles of his own, Konrad cannot reconcile his growing feelings for Weston. Duty and practicality call him home to Khale at night, but the more he denies his desire for Weston, the more it grows.
