About the Author

Woody Henderson has written the column Captain Woody's World for Latitudes & Attitudes magazine for eleven years. Having started out as volunteer crew on a cruising boat, he found his first paid-for-sailing job on the Royal Yacht of Selangor. He has taught sailing, skippered private yachts, and delivered boats worldwide. Based in Southern California, he holds a USCG 100 ton and is a member of the Hermosa Beach Yacht Club.

Reading this book, I could picture Captain Woody with his ever-present grin, as he would handle whatever was thrown at him. LOW KEY is not just the name of his boat, it is his lifestyle. Anyone thinking of going cruising should read this. It shows that anything is possible with the right attitude!

Latitudes & Attitudes

Meet the people on board with Woody; and those ashore, and some of the 'hotties' in many of those faraway places. Life was an absolute blast for the casual Californian. Of course there were problems, and the odd crisis; but nothing that the enterprising skipper could not deal with. And when the going got really tough, there was always a 'coldie' near at hand for a bit of relaxation. In fact, almost the entire voyage is better measured in the number of 'coldies' consumed rather than nautical miles covered. It all amounts to a very happy circumnavigation. Thank you, Woody for a very readable tale, delightfully told.
