About the Author

Elbert Smith has directed IMB’s Field Personnel Orientation since 2004, after having served in Latin America and South Asia for 13 years with his wife, Kay, and their children: Daniel, Katie and Carissa. Previously Smith pastored in the US for another 13 years. Elbert and Kay met while attending Oklahoma Baptist University after which he completed his M.Div. and D.Min. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and his PhD from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
