Throughout nearly thirty years of public ministry, Watchman Nee developed two major items found in the holy Scriptures--Christ and the Church. The experience of Christ produces the church. Watchman Nee presented a balanced view of the church, that it is spiritual in its nature yet practical in its manifestation. In The Glorious Church, The Prayer Ministry of the Church, and The Mystery of Christ, Watchman Nee speaks of the spiritual reality of the church as the Body of Christ; and in another series of publications, including The Assembly Life, The Normal Christian Church Life, Further Talks on the Church Life, and Church Affairs, he unveils the practical church life in its local manifestation. Church Affairs contains a series of messages given by Watchman Nee to his co-workers shortly before he was imprisoned for his faith. These messages are full of enlightening fellowship and words of encouragement, drawn from many years of experience in practicing the church life according to the New Testament revelation. In Church Affairs Watchman Nee presents the reality of the church as the Body of Christ as it is practically manifested in a locality.
