About the Author

As you may know, the poet is driven to write in order to reveal to one's self, the hidden truth of one's being. Looking inward can be painful, but one must be honest with one's self...as the writing is cathartic and processes the confusion and disorientation...as well as the joyful bliss, the individual may be experiencing. It is a tool the soul applies so as to redirect it's nature. Each one of us has our own distinct path. I hope you will enjoy reading this little book of poems and watercolors, as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
I was born and raised in NYC in the 40's. I lived with my maternal grandmother in Greenwich Village. My dear grandmother provided many wonderful books for me to read and records of classical music which greatly enriched my lonely existance.
Poetry and music and the colorful books were an escape for me. The lyrical simplicity of words delights me still. I was 19 years old when I moved to California. Disillussioned by the racial attitudes of that time, having been a victim of the violence, I escaped to Hawaii. It is there that I found my path of life and where I was befriended and accepted by the lovely Hawaiian people, whose depth, width and breath of character and wisdom allowed my nature to unfold.
I was studying books that led me in a spiritual direction and I moved to Tempe, Arizona, where I had my children. We lived by an old mission there with a wonderful family and I realized the value of my own heritage. I began to follow the ancient trail of ancestors I never knew. Now I know, they have always been with me, investing in me, guiding and protecting me. I embody their genes. Life is eternal. We are just continuing on the trail. Nothing is ever lost. All truth is just waiting for us to rediscover it.
