Addie Jones is your typical thirteen-year-old with dreams of becoming a Chow Network Food Star. So, when the casting call for Chow Chef, Jr. is announced, she knows this is her opportunity to move from teen with her own YouTube cooking show to chef stardom.
Addie embarks on the culinary adventure of her dreams, but not without hitting a few roadblocks. Pitted against eighteen-year-olds who conduct pop-up dinners out of New York City apartments, and Danka Sternberger, an aggressive bully from Addie's rival middle school, Addie underestimated the toll a national competition would take on her.
Thanks to Addie's budding fame, her popularity at school grows, but things get sticky when she's thrown into the social warfare of middle school: navigating friendships, schoolwork and boyfriends, all while competing for the title of Chow Chef. And when a stunt to impress her new friends threatens to have her kicked off the show, things spiral even more.
