Each of us lives two lives two lives simultaneously: the one we assume when we enter this passing existence and the one eternally ours. As long as our two selves seldom cross paths we manage to peacefully coexist in a single body and retain the illusion this life is all there is. But sometimes our paths not only intersect, they collide...violently. When this happens the protection our illusions offer us is stripped away in a single life-changing moment. We are forced to confront a wider reality, one our current self is barely capable of conceiving. Life is not limited to this single, brief incarnation. We lived before. We loved before. We feared our enemies then and escaped our terror only with the sometimes gentle consolation death offered. Sometimes though our previous incarnations refuse to remain buried in the silence of memories long forgotten. They come to us in our dreams, remind us who we were then. They seduce us with reminders of past loves and taunt us with the triumphant laughter of ancient enemies. When their voices come to us in the night and refuse to be silenced in the light of dawn, a choice is forced upon us. We must either reject a part of ourselves and retreat to the safety of our illusions, if we still can, or awaken to the past that haunts us and try to reconcile it with our present and our vision of the future.
