About the Author

Jim Clarke was born on 8th of May 1945 and the Germans immediately surrendered! His life has continued in the same vein. Having studied theology and English and become a youth worker he upped and migrated to the hills, convinced that the cities were about to become unliveable in - and events may yet prove him correct. He writes with a dark edge, seeing the other side of events with clarity. Heroes might include Macbeth, about whom he has written two plays, one set in a medium's parlour, the other in the nearish future, both tales of the not quite expected.
Marriage has been a hobby, and he has four to his credit; he is a firm believer in the institution - well, he'd say, it does institutionalize you unless you are fortunate enough to be anaesthetized first!
When not writing Jim reads, paints abstract expressionist paintings and breeds dogs - the Aylestone Bulldog, known throughout the UK, is his own development. When not doing any of these things then beer is the thing - not fizzy lager but the real, the English, ale, served at room temperature, preferably in a good pub!
