Overview

Chinese Americans, also known as the American Chinese, are Americans who have full or partial Chinese heritage. Chinese Americans constitute one group of overseas Chinese and also a subgroup of East Asian Americans, which is further a subgroup of Asian Americans. Many Chinese Americans are immigrants along with their descendants from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as from other countries that include large populations of the Chinese diaspora. The Chinese American community is the largest overseas Chinese community outside of Asia.
