Overview

Jack London (1876-1916), one of America's most popular storytellers, drew heavily upon his diverse, often turbulent personal experiences for his enormous output. London grew up in Oakland, was an oyster pirate at 15, a sailor at 17, odd-jobbed everywhere, eventually working up to a prospecting stint in Alaska.

CHILDREN OF THE FROST is a collection of 10 stories based entirely upon Indian themes. Like his other books, this one drew immediate praise and continues to be popular today. Particularly good for family groups or younger readers.

About the Author

John Griffith "Jack" London (January 12, 1876 - November 22, 1916) was an American novelist, journalist, and social activist. A pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction, he was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone, including science fiction.
