Overview

Clarinetist Pete Fountain designed this CD as a romantic and very danceable ballad album and even such songs as "Rose Room" and "I Can't Believe That You're in Love with Me" are taken at slow tempoes. Accompanied by an inflexible rhythm section that probably regarded jazz as a second language and a dull trombone section, Fountain still sounds enthusiastic. His tone is the only reason to acquire this disappointing set. ~ Scott Yanow
