Erhard S. Gerstenberger is professor of Old Testament emeritus at the University of Marburg. Among his many publications are Der bittende Mensch (1980/2010), Psalms, Part 1: With an Introduction to Cultic Poetry (1988), Yahweh—the Patriarch (1996), Leviticus (1996), and Psalms, Part 2, and Lamentations, 2001), Theologies in the Old Testament (2002), and Israel in the Persian Period (2012).
