About the Author

Narcisse-Eutrope Dionne (1848-1917) was a noted French-Canadian historian and bibliographer. He published a large number of historical works, the best known of which are his studies of Cartier and Champlain, and his four-volume Inventaire chronologique, an indispensable bibliography of the province of Quebec. Champlain was revised in 1926 by Ralph Flenley, Professor of History at the University of Toronto.
