Overview

Not all cats are house cats! Find out where stray cats live in cities and how their whiskers and their keen night vision help them. Learn what a group of cats is called and how much time they spend sleeping every day.

Level Pre-1 readers are aimed at children who are starting to read. Basic language, word repetition and short, simple sentences help kids read with confidence.

This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada.

About the Author

Ava is attending Okanagan College to study for an Associate of Arts diploma. After that she will continue her education, with the goal of becoming a teacher or a broadcast journalist. In her spare time, Ava enjoys writing children's books.

Sarah became an editor after many years of working as a bookseller, columnist and reviewer. She has also taught courses on writing, editing and publishing. Sarah was an editor at Orca Book Publishers for thirteen years before she (semi)-retired to become a freelance editor. She is also the author of a baker's dozen of books for young readers (board book to YA). When she's not reading, writing or editing, Sarah runs around after her three grandchildren, does yoga, (to counteract the effects of running around after small children), walks, draws and meditates.
