About the Author

Survivor. Soldier. Citizen. Daniel Geraghty is a survivor of the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. He began his career in the Army where he served as an Airborne Ranger infantry officer. A seasoned educator and leader with nearly twenty years of experience as a teacher of English, special educator, and dean of students, Daniel has dedicated his life to serving others. Currently, Daniel teaches high school English and serves as a special education case manager. He lives in Trumbull, Connecticut, with his wife, Kristen, and their three children.

If you want to read a well written book that is exciting, easy to read, and full of hope, this is your book. Dan Geraghty has written a tremendously personal and powerful account of his life, focusing on the events and people who influenced who he is today. You do not have to have been in the military, or have been impacted by the events of 9/11 as dramatically as he has been, to appreciate this book.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. Unlike many of the stories that flooded the news at that time (and still do to this day), this book does not aim to hit all the important buzzwords people are familiar with or continue a popular narrative.

Instead, it provides a very sensitive look into the mind and experiences of an average, good family man, bound by duty to family and country in the northeastern United States while struggling with an overwhelming tragedy.
