Description: This fourth edition is a distilled text based on the prominent Casarett & Doull's Toxicology: The Basic Science of Poisons, 9th edition, Klaassen (McGraw Hill, 2019), which has served as the standard resource for toxicology for more than quarter of a century. The fourth edition, published in 2021, succeeds the third edition, published in 2015, and includes 34 chapters written by 70 contributing authors, color exhibits, and seven units that progress from general toxicology principles to target organ toxicity and applications of toxicology. The book's narrative is comprehensive and written for a science-oriented audience with a chapter outline and key points included at the beginning of each chapter and multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter. There are no citations in the narrative of the text and a bibliography is provided in place of a reference section at the end of each chapter. The book's website could not be accessed via www.LangeTextbooks.com (on the back cover); rather, the online resources were available at accesspharmacy.mhmedical.com for a subscription fee or via one's institutional access.
