A series of outstanding productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company and others have recently demonstrated the theatrical vitality of Shakespeare's plays about the reign of Henry VI. In the Third Part Shakespeare extends his essay on monarchical politics by contrasting two kings, the good but ineffective Henry VI with his rival, the sensual and victorious Edward IV. He also offers more evidence of the perils of aristocratic factionalism in a series of scenes that display the grievous wounds caused by the Wars of the Roses. Here we watch the savage death of the Duke of York at the hands of Queen Margaret, the moving lament of King Henry as he witnesses the slaughter of the battle of Towton where the Lancastrians were defeated, and finally, Henry's death at the hands of Richard of Gloucester, later King Richard III.

About the Author

Terry Des Jardins, M.Ed., RRT is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Respiratory Care at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, where he taught for 35 years. He still actively lectures third-year medical students on clinical manifestations and assessment of respiratory disease and cardiopulmonary physiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urban Champaign.

Description: This sixth edition of Cardiopulmonary Anatomy and Physiology includes significant additions and improvements compared to the 2008 edition.
Purpose: It is designed to teach both structure and function of the cardiopulmonary system while maintaining a consistent level of understanding. Inclusion of premium website access, combined with an extensive glossary, appendixes, and newly added "Clinical Connections" make this book the premium package.
Audience: It is written specifically for respiratory care students as evidenced by the title and features throughout the book. The author has decades of experience, making this edition an asset for other allied health and medical professionals as well.
Features: Covering all aspects of the cardiopulmonary system, this book is divided into three units on the cardiopulmonary system, advanced cardiopulmonary concepts and related areas, and the cardiopulmonary system during unusual environmental conditions. All chapters have been revised and many include the newly added "Clinical Connections." Sleep medicine, a rapidly growing area in respiratory care, is covered exceptionally well with eight "Clinical Connections" and updated information to meet the standards of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The book lists all of the "Clinical Connections" at the beginning for easy reference. The color illustrations throughout the book provide realistic depictions of the clinical abnormalities discussed in the text.
Assessment: This update is another stellar piece of work from this author. The sixth edition goes above and beyond with all of the included extras. It is detailed, yet easily understood, and would be an asset to any healthcare professional.

I think it is a great book and will continue to adopt it well into the future. It represents the best authoritative text on cardiopulmonary physiology supported by a litany of beautiful images and well thought out instructor resources.
