The premise of NPR’s radio talk show “Car Talk” is simple: Callers describe the symptoms of their car problems, and hosts Tom and Ray Magliozzi (“Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers”), car mechanics who own a garage in Cambridge, Massachusetts, make diagnoses and provide advice. The brothers have a pronounced Boston accent, and their advice is peppered with the raucous and slightly annoying laughter typical of a radio talk program. But it’s obvious that they’re a good-natured and knowledgeable pair who provide helpful advice in a fun and self-deprecating manner. This collection features various calls from author Daniel Pinkwater, a regular caller to the show. It's a fun listen, even for those with little knowledge of cars.
