Overview

Responding to the Holy Spirit, Jake travels to Camp Koinonia to assist the ailing Mrs. Birmingham in rejuvenating her failed summer camp. Veteran camper Mindy arrived only days before. While a tornado rages through the campground, Mrs. Birmingham, Jake, and Mindy receive a word from the Lord. Their task will be to construct a safe haven for spiritually gifted youth who will bring comfort to the fallen world in the end times. Although puzzled by the prophecy, "On the day the cities are desolated, seek refuge under the Great Pine," they pursue their task of preparing for the coming calamity. The next year, Jake and Mindy marry, but the call to search for their missionary colleague in Africa preempts their honeymoon. Encounters in Africa reveal a worldwide system of divinely orchestrated safe havens. Jesus has woven his faithful into these safe havens with a single thread, "Cling to the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit direct your path." As Satan's nuclear attack triggers a global massacre of God's children, Jake, Mindy, and the campers disappear into their subterranean safe haven... John Olt lives in Noblesville, Indiana with his wife Krista and their two sons Jay and Andrew. They attend Grace Community Church where John participates on the Grace Prayer Team and Men of Grace ministry. They enjoy hiking and camping. John graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington and works as a production supervisor in the automotive industry.

Exciting, Fast-Paced Adventure!
Camp Koinonia was every bit as exciting and believable as Tim LaHaye's book Left Behind! It was wonderfully fast-paced and exciting, and really demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit! I LOVED it! I highly recommend this book to all believers. If you're not a believer, you should still read this book. Who knows - maybe you'll change your mind? ;)

John Olt's writing is like a brisk breeze in your face. It's exciting, refreshing, and based on Christian truth. People that think the second coming of Christ is something to dread need to read this and be reassured that God IS in control and the good guy wins in the end.
