Follow the adventures of a young group of girls – all descendants of the Towne sisters of Salem Massachusetts - as they explore the secrets of their heritage while summering in Gloucester. As the girls seek membership in a clandestine group that has been in existence since the late 1600s, they learn some very special, seemingly magical skills. Along the way, they solve a mystery, discover a young group of boys with similar goals, and engage in a friendly competition. A light fantasy, this short story is suitable for young children on up through adults.

About the Author

William Edward Doran, a life-long poet, started writing children's stories after his first grandchild was born. Continually inspired by his now three grandchildren and family lore, Mr. Doran continues writing to this day.
