Call Me Dad, Not Dude. The Sequel
“Call Me Dad, Not Dude. The Sequel” by Matthew Keenan This book is a follow-up to his 2007 best seller, Call Me Dad, Not Dude. Keenan’s latest book includes 83 columns, with 12 of his best stories published in 435 South Magazine – 264 pages in all.

Keenan takes on the adolescent sports scene, Prom, texting, reclaiming rights to the car radio, and making sense of the lease agreement for college boy’s party house. Additional columns include taking the scout troop on camping trips during tornado season, and being a boy scout during the good ole days -- the 70's.

Keenan's voice also speaks to growing up in the 60's and 70's in small town America, and he deftly draws contrasts from the parenting styles of the old school moms and the helicopter moms of the modern age.

Old school, new school, ‘Hello – what school?’ If it’s happened to your kids, or it’s about to, Keenan’s already been there, done that!

Get this book and laugh until you cry! And that’s just the first chapter – “Raising Teens.”

About the Author

Matt Keenan has been writing humor for The Kansas City Star and local
magazines for the last twelve years. His first book, “Call Me Dad, Not Dude,” was
published in 2007 and remains popular today. His latest book includes his
best columns since “Dude I” and helps parents stay sane while raising teenagers
in a texting, tweeting, topsy-turvy world. Whether its coping with the adolescent
sports scene, grappling with the notion of his high school senior canceling Keenan’s own vote in a presidential election, reclaiming rights to the
car radio, or understanding the lease agreement for the party
house his college junior is about to sign — Keenan’s world is
our world. Matt deftly contrasts the simplicity of growing up
in the ’60s and ’70s with the challenges of raising teenagers
today. If humor is the best medicine, this book is worth a
day’s trip to CVS or Walgreens. With no co-pay.
