About the Author

Margarita Rodriguez was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She has spent most of her life stateside,
primarily in Manhattan's Lower East Side and the Bronx. After attending New York University's
School of Education to earn her teaching degree, Margarita worked as a classroom teacher and
staff developer for many years.

Her educational goals ultimately led Margarita to enroll in Columbia University's Teachers College
where she earned an MA in Educational Psychology. Currently, she is enjoying her retirement years.
