Overview

When computer programmer Nathaniel “Deuce” Stoller’s apartment catches fire, the Oceanside Fire Department is called in to deal with the blaze. One of the firefighters, Trey Donovan, heroically rescues Deuce’s beloved pregnant dog. Even though he is now homeless, Deuce is grateful, and he goes to the station house to make sure Trey knows that. The spark of attraction between the two men flares quickly, but Trey’s ex-wife, Holly, is out to douse the growing flames. She resents Deuce, doesn’t want him around her seven-year-old daughter, and endeavors to make it impossible for Trey and Deuce to connect on a meaningful level. If they want to get to know each other, they’ll need to find a way to deal with the interference.

Return to Oceanside with two sweet and humorous tales of new love, fresh starts, firefighters, family, and a litter of adorable puppies.
By Chris Owen and Tory Temple

About the Author

Writer, artist, herder of one cat and two dogs, lover of curling and wool.

Tory lives in southern California, the land of no seasons. (Unless you count wind as a season.) She lives with three dogs and three cats. She is married to a firefighter, which is great in the sense that some nights she gets the TV all to herself, but not so great in the sense that some nights she has to figure out what to do when the washer starts leaking. (Or when there's a bat in the house, which is a thing that happened when the hubs was working.) Most of her books are centered around the firehouse. When you spend a lot of time around firemen, you write what you know! And what's hotter than a fireman? Two firemen.
