About the Author

Harry Moore has had a lifelong career in business and working with the professions. He was a senior manager at Dunlop Ltd, Chairman and Managing Director of Silver Cross Prams Ltd, Managing Director of HunterPrint plc and Collets International. Harry was also a Principal at KPMG enjoying partner status and held a similar position at Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC. He had also worked with the UK government’s Small Business Service as an Advisor Manager where he designed and managed a business recovery scheme that saved 135 businesses. The scheme was funded by the government. He currently manages his own turnaround practice – Moore Fleming and works mainly with family businesses.

Harry has received an honorary doctorate from Loughborough University and two Beacon Fellowship Awards (London) for his charity work. He and his wife created Cope, a children’s cancer charity, The Laura Centre, for those affected by the death of a child and Rainbows – the children’s hospice. He speaks quite regularly in the media about this work.

He believes there is more to living than food and drink and that the spiritual side of life should not be ignored. Likewise, he is a lover of the arts, being a regular attendee at the BBC Proms Concerts, a Friend of the Royal Academy and a lover of the Theatre as well as the written word.

His first book – A lark Ascending - is a moving autobiographical novel about his daughter Laura’s fight against Leukaemia.
