About the Author

Guy Lanter was born in Denver, Colorado. He was raised by a single mom and watched over by his grandmother, who was a devout Christian and loved to read Bible stories to Guy and his older sister. His grandmother also taught Guy that no matter what the circumstances or hardships in his life, he should “always count his blessings” and trust in the good graces of God.

When his mother remarried, Guy and his family moved to a farm in the town of Longmont, Colorado. Guy fondly recalls spending time on the farm and although there were chores involved, he never stopped taking advantage of the beauty of nature all around him. Guy would often fish out of the local pond or play with his dog on the family’s farm.

Guy always did well in school and got straight A’s without even really trying, however, his thick glasses and skinny physique often made him the brunt of jokes and a target for bullies. He become very withdrawn and never wanted to participate in team sports since he was usually picked last. Feeling like an ‘underdog’, Guy decided to pursue the two loves of his life: music and art. In time, he became an accomplished musician with is own band. Guy also loved to doodle and would create cartoon characters that he could relate to, and these creations eventually became “The Little Snurd”, who, like Guy, always felt like the underdog but managed to use his faith and trust in God to deal with the struggles in his young life.
Guy later married his high school sweetheart and joined the Navy, and afterwards he graduated engineering school and took a job in the data storage industry, where he worked for over 30 years until retiring in 2023.
With “The Little Snurd” books, Guy hopes to pass along the teachings that his grandmother gave him, and that he later passed down to his sons and grandchildren – “always count your blessings”, and as the Bible tells us, trust in God in all things. Throughout his life Guy has used his faith as a catalyst for change for the better. His hope with “The Little Snurd” is that children everywhere can overcome feeling like the underdog, and realize that God is always watching over them and they will succeed in any situation as long as they place their trust in Him.
