About the Author

Isabel Villarreal, she/her pronouns, is a Black/Latina queer American poet. She is an artist, model, digital content creator, and activist for marginalized communities. Her focus is advocating for all Black, Indigenous, and other people of color especially in the LGBTQ+ community. She is passionate about her activism in supporting Black Lives Matter, providing education on LGBTQ+ issues and systemic racism while highlighting the unique experiences of being Black and part of the LGBTQ+ community. She is outspoken about identity and mental health on social media platforms as well. Part of her activism centers on being unapologetically loud about representation and liberation through a queer lense as well as amplifying and supporting those in need. Isabel or "Bella" has been writing poetry since 2015 but this is her first poetry book. She hopes to continue painting to capture the beauty of Black women through spirituality and surrealism in an aim for self love and visibility. Isabel loves making art for those who never see themselves in an art piece. She hopes to document her life experiences, emotions, and intersectional identities in an artistic way.
