About the Author

Mary V. Woods was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, to an Irish family of 7 children, 5 of whom were brothers! She received her secondary education at Villanova University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and using her Professional Registered Nursing license in a variety of Medical and Healthcare positions. She is married to her college sweetheart, Doug and together they raised 3 great children. They now reside in North Carolina where they enjoy the company of good friends and their 6 grandchildren. With the beginning of U.S. School shootings in 1999 and the continuance of seeing this trauma repeat itself, Mary was motivated to write a story of reflection on this subject and create the characters who could best display the challenges of our country. Through the storylines and characters of different generations, the methods of how teenagers cope with threats to both themselves and others around them are shared in this story of “Brothers in Gray”
