No one wants to go to the Vietnam War and that includes Santiago.

When a woman is in love, it's not hard to stay focused and turn a blind eye to the flirtations and come-ons from other men. And that's just what she does. He was afraid he would never get better and that is why he couldn't commit to the love of his life. Gabriella, however was determined to hold on as long as it took.
