About the Author

Ernest Edwin Speight (1871–1949) was professor of English for twenty years at Tokyo’s Imperial University and twenty more at Osmania University in India. He authored a number of English textbooks, as well as fiction, poetry, and music.

 

Robert Morton Nance (1873-1959), born in Cardiff, Wales, was a painter, nautical archaeologist, and an authority on the Cornish language. He was a founder of the Old Cornwall Society, and wrote many books and pamphlets, including Sailing-Ship Models.
