Overview

SYNOPSIS (with spoilers): In 1920, the daughter of a Russian baron marries a British historian against her parents' will. Three years later, she dies in France during childbirth. At her funeral, the baby and her nanny disappear, forcing the desperate husband to undertake a private investigation. The search for his daughter takes him all over the planet, where WW-II and life itself have other plans for him. (Standalone novella version, illustrated by the author.)

NOTE from the publisher: This is the 3rd edition, now with new illustrations. It has the same ISBN because the text is the same. If you buy it "used" or from another reseller (other than directly from Amazon or Barnes & Noble), it might not match what you see in the "look inside" feature. Be sure which version you want (1, 2, or 3) before you order. The eBook is not illustrated to save on file size (1 MB vs. 300 MB).
