Divorcee Angela Nelson bellieves the death of her father, Army Master Sergent Amos Bridger, is not a heart attack as the authorities have concluded. Enlisting the help of widowed insurance agent Ron Proctor, she challenges the Police to investigate.This leads to multiple attacks on Angela and Ron. After the death of his wife, Ron is disenchanted with is former vibrant Christian life. Now romantically attracted to Angela, he gradually recalls an incident hitherto buried in his memory that leads to the identification of the killer. Ultimately he returns to his former Christian life. The story is set in the fictional town of Jeffersonville, located in the southern Appalachians.
