Mike was raised in the charming town of Marcus, Washington, swimming in the majestic Columbia River. Being a kid of the 70s, many of his summer days were spent in remote logging camps deep in the mountainous backwoods, working alongside relatives.
He served 23 years in the military, retiring as a Navy Chief Petty Officer. He and his wife currently live in the Eastern Tennessee mountains where he is a long-haul truck driver, enjoying the beautiful scenery through his broad windshield while listening to audio books and plotting his next story.
