Overview

In Blue Backgrounds, Noble Bandit takes us on a personal and highly entertaining journey. Using her trademark humor, she explores self-empowerment "Ninja'd," a dislike for certain food "Pickled Onions Make Me Vomit," a fear of failure "I Exist Somehow," sleep deprivation "Hella Irrational" and much more. These poems create a sense of the poets own times with an element of memoir mixed in.

About the Author

Name: S Lee Newman @noblebandit Born: 5 September, 1962 Place: Connecticut, USA Occupation: Art critic, Music critic, Commentator on contemporary culture, Poet Studies: University of Maryland Central Connecticut State University Biography and Career: S. Lee Newman was born of an Irish mother and a half-German father in Connecticut, USA. She is a professional writer of poetry. She was educated at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT and studied Italian language and culture in Italy. In the following years, she worked as an assistant on Wall Street, helped create the Billboard Charts for Atlantic Records and also worked in television while in New York City. Between 1982 and 1993 there were two marriages to men, both ending in divorce. (Ever since she was young, she has been living with loss. Her parents divorced before she was twelve.) In 1999, she became an enchanted wanderer and went north to Alaska. Feeling like a temporary visitor, she sought adventure on both land and sea. It was often a solitary, melancholy existence for her in this vast wilderness. "At first a novelty," she states, "but then a sinking feeling ... like something obscure that captures you and then disappears." She began writing poetry in 2008 and since that time has published three collections on her blogs. There was not much recognition at the beginning of her career because of her unusual style but she continued to shape her poetic space and now her poems are translated into nine languages. She states that she would enjoy doing readings abroad. Trivia: - Height: 5' 7" - She has Irish origins. - She loves the outdoors, mountain biking, swimming and sailing. - Another passion of hers, travel.
