Life hasn't gotten any easier for seventeen-year-old Emma Cartwright, a young woman as beautiful and tough as the land from which she comes. Emma is a girl on a mission! When everyone and everything she has is suddenly taken away, Emma's world begins to fall apart, but a rugged old gunslinger from her mother's past appears to offer assistance, and Emma finds herself on a journey to reclaim her loved ones and the legacy they left behind in a far-away land.
Meanwhile, Emma's twelve year old sister Sarah finds herself stranded in a frozen wasteland, where two moons glide across the night sky to cast light upon a blanket of snow that stretches as far as the eye can see. Tasked with caring for two younger brothers in a world they neither know nor understand, Sarah uses her father's inventions to help keep them safe, and to pave the way in reclaiming her own, lost birthright.
