Overview

Princess Alikina must overcome her fear. Outside her enchanted castle, the world is crumbling and certain to fall, and she is a princess, subject to an undesired position as an heir.

But Alikina finds life much safer and more comfortable living vicariously through the books she finds in the castle's library.

Her inner conflict begins the night a mortally wounded stranger somehow breaches the spell that surrounds the castle. "The king still lives!" he says.

Now the princess has no more peace in her solitude. She is no longer a child, and must act, but how?

Alikina has the One Thing that can wake her father from the enchantment that keeps him asleep. The One Thing that can restore unity in Glædlond and set the rightful heir on the throne.

But can she bear the burden? Will her doubts and fears keep her hidden in obscurity?

Can she trust herself to know when the moment is right to rise and be the princess she was born to be?

Bloom of Beorg, narrated by an awkward and wordy young woman, coming of age in uncertain times. Enduring experiences beyond her imagination, she must keep hold of the truth in her heart.

Follow Princess Alikina on her journey through her war-torn homeland. Endure her struggles out of procrastination through the unsteady steps into a woman who could be queen.

A wholesome and romantic old-fashioned fairytale appropriate for all ages. Readers who enjoy books like The Princess and the Goblin by George McDonald will find this a satisfying read.
