Overview

Murder and bootlegging were never part of a 1920s It Girl's plans for stardom. But when gangsters destroy her family, she'll put on her greatest performance yet as she exacts revenge, one man at a time.

Mia Angela Scalisi lives a cushy, luxurious life as the headlining act at a popular, gangster-owned Chicago supper club. But it's not the silver screen, and all she wants is to be the Italian Lillian Gish.

With her big brother Nick on the cusp of securing a huge bootlegging deal guaranteed to make him rich, he'll be able to use his contacts and influence to make Mia's dreams a reality.

But in an instant, life as Mia knows it and all her dreams shatter forever.

Now, the only thing that matters is finding the men responsible and teaching them a lesson in the power of blood...

By spilling theirs.

Set against the backdrop of the glamorous 1920s, Blood & Whiskey is the first thrilling installment of the Scalisi Family Saga.

About the Author

Meredith Allison is a writer (and reader) of many kinds of fiction, but in particular historical crime and dark thrillers.

A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, she is by proxy a Huskers fan (GO BIG RED!), as UNL is her undergraduate alma mater, and moonlights as an obligatory Blue Jays fan due to completing her graduate MFA studies at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

On any given Sunday during NFL season, you can catch her and her husband rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs from her living room or occasionally Arrowhead Stadium.

When she emerges from her writing cave, she can be found romping with her two Pomeranians, serving her overlord cat, hanging with her husband, battling it out with the undead or practicing a new kind of magery on her PlayStation, or simply huddled in a dark corner somewhere with just enough light to read a favorite book. Other interests include baking, cooking, and blogging about new restaurants.
